DENISE GEREIN - Travelling into the Christian Market
by Lorena Kelly for The Session

Many of the songs on the album were inspired by external sources. I comment on several that are written in first person, and so intimately stated that you believe she's truly walked in the shoes she sings from. "I practiced family law for so many years, and saw instances where people were going through divorces, fighting over children, and so on . . . and when you represent these cases you become very close to the people. It was easy to write because I'd seen it all. I've had to hold many hands and help them through it."

THE SESSION DATED APRIL 2003.

GEREIN OFFERING MUSIC WITH MEANING
by Gerry Krochak for the Leader-Post

"How does such a big voice come from such a little body?!"
It's a question that local Christian singer-songwriter Denise Gerein has gotten used to hearing. Her characteristic rich, full and throaty delivery, as well as a penchant for writing songs of faith, hope and getting to the heart of the matter have given the (now part-time) lawyer a chance to further explore her lifelong passion on Who I Am, her debut independant CD." . . . Who I Am became a deeply personal album for Gerein, but it also translated into spiritual themes that most people can easily relate to.

LEADER-POST PREVIEW DATED APRIL 24TH, 2003.

"We had our final ALPHA Celebration Dinner last night. The highlight of the evening was Denise singing . . . it created such a wonderfully serene atmosphere. Denise's singing was fabulous . . . we received so much positive feedback about the music."

COMMENTS FROM RESURRECTION PARISH BIBLE STUDY COURSE after playing "YOU KNOW WHO I AM"

"I don't really consider last night a performance as that sounds almost secular. I felt you were sharing your faith ... you were as you were ... made by God."
